Our approach to maths!

Here at Our Lady and St. Hubert’s we love maths and OLSH is well known for its success in maths and has constantly been one of the highest performing schools locally and nationally for some time! Our approach is highly innovative and we have supported schools nationally and internationally with teaching, CPD and maths management/leadership.

So… what is our secret?

Well… we have adapted our own approach to maths which has been based on the approaches used in Singapore Maths. Recently, we have also been working with Maths No Problem to embed high quality resources and planning support!

Our parents are highly supportive and often ask us how they can support their children, as our approaches can be very different to the way other schools learn. They can also be very different to how we ourselves and our parents learnt as children. This page therefore, has been created to provide support for our parents and families – explaining some of the key concepts and elements of school practice.

If you have any have any questions as a parent/carer, then please come in and speak to Mrs Crawford (Principal and Maths Lead) or Dr. Doyle (Senior Executive Principal).  If you are a fellow school and you would like to observe outstanding practice, or gain some support implementing highly effective whole school approaches, then please contact headteacher@st-huberts.sandwell.sch.uk.
