Prayer is central to the life of our Catholic school community. It is through prayer that we encounter God, deepen our relationship with Him, and grow in faith together. At our school, we pray at key points throughout the day to reflect the rhythm of the Church’s prayer life and to unite our community with the wider Church across the world.
Just as priests and religious pause to pray at set times — morning, midday and evening — we too sanctify our school day by beginning, pausing, and ending with prayer. Morning prayer helps us to offer the day to God and seek His guidance in all that we do. Grace before and after meals allows us to give thanks for God’s blessings and recognise His presence in the ordinary moments of our lives. Prayer at the end of the day offers time for reflection, gratitude, and peace, drawing our day to a close in God’s care.
These regular moments of prayer remind pupils that God is with them throughout each part of their day and that all learning, play, and relationships are rooted in His love. In this way, daily prayer not only nurtures children’s spiritual growth but also helps them develop habits of faith that will sustain them beyond their time at school.
